1. Who we are
RivoLift is a sole proprietorship registered in California, United States, with its business address at 3770 N Claremont Ave, Fresno, CA 93727, United States. We are the controller (the business responsible) for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@rivolift.com or +1 (650) 446-4547.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Order information: your name, email address, phone number, company name (if you provide one), delivery address, the items in your order, delivery notes and any messages you send about an order.
- Enquiry information: the details you submit through our contact form, including your name, email address, phone number, order number (if you include one), subject and message.
- Technical information: standard server and security records created by our hosting platform when a page is requested, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and timestamps.
- Cart information: while you shop, the items in your cart are kept in a shopping session linked to a cookie in your browser, so the cart is still there when you move between pages. The session expires automatically and is cleared when you check out or empty your cart.
Card numbers are entered in Stripe’s secure payment field and are never received or stored by this website. We do not ask for government identity documents.
3. Why we use it
- To record and fulfil your order, arrange delivery and provide order support.
- To answer your questions, handle warranty claims and resolve disputes.
- To keep accurate business, accounting and tax records where the law requires it.
- To protect the site and our business against fraud, abuse and misuse, and to keep the site working.
We rely on the performance of our agreement with you when you order or ask us a question, on our legal obligations for record-keeping and tax, and on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the store.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number is entered into Stripe’s secure payment field, not into our systems. We receive only the payment result, a transaction reference and limited card details such as the card brand and last four digits. Stripe uses payment information as described in its own privacy policy, including for fraud prevention.
5. Who we share it with
- Our hosting provider (Hostinger) and email service providers, which run this website and store our records.
- Freight carriers and suppliers that deliver orders, so they receive the delivery name, address, phone number and the details needed to deliver and unload the shipment.
- Stripe, to process payments and prevent fraud.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where we are required by law to disclose information or need advice.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not place advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
6. Cookies and browser storage
This site uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to run the store and keep your cart. Our Cookie Policy lists what is used and how to clear it.
7. How long we keep it
We keep order, enquiry and accounting records for as long as we need them to fulfil orders, provide warranty and support, resolve disputes and meet our accounting and tax obligations, generally 7 years for order and accounting records and up to 2 years for other messages, then delete or anonymise them. Cart data is kept only for the length of your shopping session.
8. How we protect it
This site is served over HTTPS. Access to order and contact records is restricted to the people who need it, and the platform we use provides authentication, access controls and encrypted storage for the records we hold. No system is completely secure, but we do not collect more information than we need to run the store.
9. Your rights and choices
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request a copy, the right to ask us to correct inaccurate information, the right to ask us to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that point, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Residents of other US states with similar privacy laws have equivalent rights over the information they have provided to us. To make a request, email contact@rivolift.com from the address you used with us, or call +1 (650) 446-4547. We will confirm your request, reply within 45 days, and we may ask you to verify your identity before we act on it. You can use an authorised agent where the law allows it.
Because we do not track you across other websites and do not sell or share personal information, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as confirmation that you do not want your information sold or shared. You can also clear the cart data stored by this site at any time in your browser settings.
10. Children
This store sells commercial equipment and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described on this page.
